San Francisco Pride: BoA Performance Time Change
Jun 27 2009, 06:13 PM by Uni

"Time is ticking, time time is ticking away!"
- Epik High 'One'

The San Francisco Pride Festival main stage performances are coming tomorrow and that means BoA will finally perform at one of the biggest stages she's had so far since debuting in America! She is allotted 20 minutes to perform and according to her interview on 106.1 KISS FM on Wednesday, June 24th, will be performing three songs in total. We, as fans, can only guess what those songs could be! "I Did It For Love" is a sure song that will be performed as it is her most recent single. "Eat You Up" was her very first song to be released in America, but there is also "Look Who's Talking". Or maybe, BoA will surprise us all and perform her next single "Energetic"! According to BoA's latest interview on California Music Channel, she will be performing "Energetic" for the first time!!

Also, for those going, make sure to make note of the time change for her performance. Her performance will be at 4:50PM and NOT 4:35PM. Thanks to BoAjjang member, bokachu , for catching the time change and the update on the "Energetic" performance!

UPDATE:For those planning to go to the event, make sure to get there EARLY. For those who went to the Universal City Walk event a few months ago, the people who went at least 6-8 hours early were the ones who were able to get very close to the stage. The main stage at SF Pride starts at NOON, therefore it's recommended you go as early as 10AM, if not earlier. Also, there will NOT be a live streaming of the main stages, including BoA's performance. Therefore, if any kind souls would record the performance for us unlucky ones would be great.

From BoA's Twitter:
"whew, on the plane to SFO...we almost didn't make it! they even locked the doors and called us on the intercom, how embarassing!"

Make sure to follow her on her twitter! She's gained over 5,000 followers in the last two and a half weeks!

--

Also, as we all have heard by now, legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson passed away yesterday from cardiac arrest. This shocked everyone all over the world as he was an icon to all of us. As many of you know, BoA was a very big fan of Michael Jackson and one of her dreams was to meet him.

From BoA's Twitter:
"Rest in peace Michael Jackson. I'm going to miss you so much...I'm so sad right now"
"I'm listening to "You Are Not Alone" by the King of Pop in the car on the way to rehearsal for SF Pride :)"

More U.S. Performances & Interviews from BoA!
Jun 23 2009, 07:06 PM by Uni

BoA is ready to set the stage on fire at this week's San Francisco Pride Festival '09 this Sunday! She'll be performing for approximately 20 minutes and will be joined by other headliners such as Solange Knowles and The Cliks. For those BoAjjangers attending the event, BoA will be performing at 4:35PM PST, so make sure to bring your yellow balloons to show her your support! Because Americans do not necessarily use balloon colors to show their favorite artist their support, using the yellow balloons will catch people's attention and you can take the chance to do a little advertising for BoA!

However, there are more events lined up for her and her fans. BoA's MySpace has the Show/Tour section updated with events such as interviews. On May 3rd, she had a NYLON Magazine (Korean) interview. Screenshots and scans can be found here and here courtesy of boanjel. It's been awhile since BoA has been featured in a Korean magazine and it's great for her to be on the front cover of Korea NYLON with style. CNN also gets their second interview with BoA on the set of the 'Energetic' music video shoot and hopefully, that'll be released soon. On June 17th, BoA had an interview with Access Hollywood and US Weekly, each will be seen by millions of viewers in America once it comes out.

This morning at 11:30AM, BoA was in San Francisco for an interview on CA Music Channel and KNGY 92.7FM. Tomorrow, June 24th, she'll be in Seattle, Washington, for another interview with 106.1 KISS FM and KHNC. Last time BoA was on 106.1 KISS FM with Jackie and Bender, she had a great time shocking Ben and listening to metal for the first time. For those who plan to meet and greet her at the radio station, make sure to be on your best behavior! Call in and ask some good questions and that BoAjjang loves her!

Then, on July 1st, it's back to Las Vegas for BoA! She'll be at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to perform at 7:00PM PST.

Update: Her Facebook and MySpace has been updated with newer descriptions for this event. Her Facebook describes this event as "BoA will be presenting a donation to the "Doctors without Borders" and her MySpace describes it as "Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas Special Presentation for Doctors without Borders". Whether BoA will be performing in Las Vegas is still questionable, however, it does seem that BoA will be donating to the "Doctors Without Borders" group, more known by its French name "Médecins Sans Frontières". It was created in 1971 by a small group of French doctors who "who believed that all people have the right to medical care regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation, and that the needs of these people supersede respect for national borders". (Wikipedia it!) Great to see that BoA helping a great cause and taking some time out of her busy schedule to attend this kind of event.

In August, BoA will head back for Japan to participate in J-WAVE Live on August 14th. She will be joined by Koda Kumi, JUJU, flumpool, RIP SLYME, and sukima switch. This performance may mean that BoA will not attend the rumored WDRE Long Island outdoor festival on August 15th. Also, she will be performing in the annual A-Nation concert in Tokyo on August 22nd and 23rd and will be joined by fellow SM and Avex artists, TVXQ (Tohoshinki, Dongbangshinki).

Also, don't forget to check out BoA's latest interview with NY1's Lewis Dodley. Some of the questions she is asked are a bit different from other interviews. I'm sure all BoA fans are very proud of how fast she is able to learn English so quickly. The grammar mistakes have lessened since her first interview at MTV Iggy! BoAjjang!

BoA Exposed on 'So You Think You Can Dance'
Jun 11 2009, 10:16 PM by Uni

Your eyes are not deceiving you! BoA garnered some brief exposure on FOX's hit dance show So You Think You Can Dance!! Asuka Kondoh and Vitolio Jeune were one of the bottom three couples of Week 1 performances and as a result, had to dance for their lives. What does this have to do with BoA? Well, Asuka Kondoh surprised all the BoA fans when she selected BoA's 'Did Ya' for her dance routine! That short clip alone has immensely boosted the song's popularity on iTunes just a few short hours after the show ended. It more than doubles the popularity of BoA's current single 'I Did It For Love'. So on behalf of all BoA fans, we thank Asuka Kondoh for choosing 'Did Ya' and hope that she continues to do well in the competition! You've made me a fan just from that! If you missed the short performance, Youtube is our best friend, so click here to check it out. Asuka's solo dance starts at 2:07.

In our last news post, we featured TheBeatboxHitman2 as he did his thing and beatboxed to BoA's 1st U.S. single, 'Eat You Up'. But he's not done with her just yet! He's released another fantastic video of his beatboxing to BoA's next single, 'Energetic'. The song itself already makes you want to get up and dance, but the flavor he adds to it makes it so intense and makes you want to party all night long to the song! So make sure to keep an eye on him for any other songs he may be beatboxing to. You can probably call him the next Pumashock! Maybe StarKing will invite him to their show so he can show off some of his talent. He's already done many popular songs, such as the nooga nooga 'It's You' by Super Junior, the ever so addicting 'Gee' by Girls Generation (So Nyeo Shi Dae), SHINee's #1 comeback song 'Juliette', 2PM's repetitive 'Again & Again', and newbies 2NE1's hot 'Fire'.

Don't forget to support BoA and bring your yellow balloons at the SF Pride event on Sunday, June 28th, 2009! She'll be performing for 20 minutes starting at 4:35PM PST. That's enough for at least three or four songs...so cross your fingers!

BoA to be Featured on CNN for the 2nd time & Other News
Jun 10 2009, 06:15 PM by Uni

BoA is already a headliner for the San Francisco Pride 2009 and recently had an interview on EXTRA. But that's not all! BoA has announced on her Official Twitter that she will have a second interview with CNN! Three years ago, BoA had her first interview with CNN as part of the 'Talk Asia' segment. However, this time we'll be hearing BoA speak for herself instead of having a translator! Not only that, she will be introduced as an artist advancing into the American market. SM Entertainment has confirmed that BoA will be on CNN and also mentioned that the interview took place during BoA's music video filming for her next single "Energetic".

"You guys will see me on CNN pretty soon. Did an interview with them in between production of the video! Yay! :)"

With that said, it is confirmed that "Energetic" will have a music video! No exact details have been released yet, but BoA's twittering can tell us that the set is in Los Angeles, California and that it took over 13 hours to shoot. Not only that, she'll be in the U.S. for the whole month of June! Hopefully, she'll get over some of her jetlag from going back and forth from Japan and the U.S. and rest for awhile. If you aren't already, make sure to be a follower of BoA's Twitter!

In other news, BoA has been featured on today's MySpace Music! Has all these ads and features help spread the BoA love around? Youtube user TheBeatboxHitman2 sure does now! Listen to him as he does awesome beatboxing to BoA's "Eat You Up".

BoA has brought out the best in all of us and has inspired many people in the BoAjjang community. BoA's hoobae deul, So Nyeo Shi Dae, a.k.a. Girls' Generation, told the The Myanmar Times that they love BoA and because BoA works hard, all 9 members want to be like her. Also, remember BoAjjang duo "DGDY"? They became the talk of Korea after covering Anyband's "Promise You" and had racked up over 64,000 views after only 5 days on Youtube. DGDY member chidori made an announcement back in March about a forum collaboration for BoA's 1st U.S. album and six of the songs have already been completed and released! Support your BoAjjang members and take a listen! All the songs can be found in our Member Creation forums. Click here to listen to their version of "I Did It For Love", "Obsessed", & "Scream" and here for "Did Ya", "Look Who's Talking", and "Eat You Up".
